From a post of @super_akiya (2013.10.24 21:19)
During the live in France, all of the audience had prepared white lilies, I heard!
So Taka began crying and had to leave the stage for a while!
This happened when they were singing ‘Be the Light’ The audience raised their hands with a white lily to commemorate the victims of the earthquake in Fukushima. This song was written for them, you know.
I just wanted to say something about this!
I’m admin of ONE OK ROCK French street team who organized (and made endlessly) the origamis. We were so happy that this became such a success… We never thought they would be that touched, I couldn’t hold my tears as well… Thanks to all French (and foreign) fans, they really played the game, and put their heart into this project. And above all, everyone was so nice while we distributed them!
Well, what I wanted to say is, the song (and the project) is not only about Fukushima. It’s much more global, about all the suffering some people have to endure due to disasters or tragic stories. (Anyway, the band said themselves it didn’t concern only Fukushima if you doubt it)
We also chose the flowers because, it’s like flowers will bloom over again, like a rebirth, and it’s also a message of hope, which goes along well with the message of the song. Plus, white flowers are also used in funerals around the world, so it was like a thought for all the victims of recent disasters or wars (I mean, Fukushima indeed, but Syria as well is having hard times for instance). And more practically, white reflects light the most xD
To end this, I’m really happy everyone liked it. It was an intense moment, with so much emotion. Not only Taka cried I think, because I could see Tomoya putting a lot of effort into containing tears at the beginning of Wherever you are (first song from encore), an origami beside him (he brought it from the backstage when coming back on stage).
Really, I wish they stayed this human and adorable all along their career (as long and successful as possible of course!).
And even if I love this photograph, I can’t even put it on the page (well, it was highly forbidden to take pictures during the show and we want to respect this), so I’m reaaaaally frustrated!
At least I can see the result of all this work and it’s really making me happy.
I didn’t want to write that much. But to anyone who participated… Thank you a lot again.
Oh! You’re the one who organized this project!!!
I feel honored to have your reply!
I was really touched to read the post on twitter and thought ‘Good job, French OOR fans!’
Yes, during the live tour in Japan, Taka said the same thing: This song is not only about Fukushima. And he encouraged every one of us to start something to make the world better. So the members must have been moved to find their message in the song had surely reached as far as France! I wish I could have been there with you XD
And I’m sorry to have posted a forbidden picture. This is not mine and obviously not @super_akiya’s, I suppose. But I should have known it’s against the rules. I wish ONE OK ROCK’s official website will cover this incident and upload the video to YouTube or at least photos on their official website. I’ve already found forbidden videos on YouTube …
Anyway, I’d like to thank you and all the OOR fans in France for this awesome project!
Haha, don’t feel honored xD
We just spent a loooot of time over the origamis but it was more than worth it.
Anyways, I’m not angry at you, and it’s a picture of the audience so I guess it’s ok, but so many people took pictures or videos of the shows, I feel like they don’t respect the work of the staff… And anyways, watching bad fancams is like spoiling our own memories, I prefer to keep them intact ^^
